I, as a voter and tax payer, believe that McGeehan not owning a home in the District is a major issue. If it's not an issue for cyainthehood or anyone else who's satisfied with the status quo in the District then vote for the absentee State Rep. However, if you think things are bad now, if the current Rep wins re-election, he'll take it as a mandate that the further deterioration and collapse of the neighborhoods of the 173rd District, in which he has no stake other than a paycheck, is what the people want.
Look around your neighborhood and think about how it was in in 1990, 16 years ago when McGeehan was first elected, and how it is today and ask yourelf: Does a guy who chooses to not own a home in the 173rd District or anywhere in the city or state but owns houses in Jersey and Florida; a guy who actively supports John Street, who disdains the Northeast, cares about you and your family? Do you really believe that Mike McGeehan lives above a bar at Cottman and Cottage?
This election in the 173rd transcends D or R. It's about our neighborhood survival. We've had 16 years of nothing from the invisible Mike. A man who has neither address nor phone number in the District.
WHERE DOES MIKE MCGEEHAN LIVE? A simple question begging a simple answer.
WHERE DOES HE LIVE?

Cool

Look around, of course things look better in Mayfair, stores are still open and thriving on Frankford ave, Torresdale Ave has stores , most still open , lacks the needed beat cop or solid townwatch but streets are paved, the parks are in better shape in the district than in a lot of parts in the city. We have future development along the river, where was that 16 years ago. I think the current challenger should work a few years on the community and see where he can improve rather than worry about where some one hangs his hat. I am sure city, state and federal taxes are paid by Mike. Where was the challenger before this year and is he financially responsible individual capable of managing finances and is he a strong leader. Prove yourself first then run. I see Scott Cummings worked hard many years laying ground work, volunteered his time in the community for the last few years, accomplished some goals and now he knows what needs to be done. Mike lives somewhere. Do we publish every politician's address who runs for office. Does someone who lives in the city for 1 year mean anything?? How long have you owned a home, where do you live, how many homes do you own-does any of this matter-

And I'm sorry, but McGeehan has been in the minority in the state house for what -- his entire tenure? He has secured a great deal more money since we've had a democratic governor. Perzel has been in the majority, he's been there even longer, and he's speaker of the house. OF COURSE he's gotten more money for his district. That's politics.

I noticed Michael has quietly given back the pay raise. Who wants to bet me a dollar that if he's reelected, he'll be quietly buying property in his district in the near future? He may be slippery, but he's not dumb.
