Exclamation Vote NO on SB 862 - send Reps a fax letter IMMEDIATELY

A copy of an e-mail I received today ... it's easy to do

Subject: Urgent Casino Update: Please help now

The state House will be voting tomorrow on Senate Bill 862. The Bill strips
Philadelphia of power to regulate any aspect of casino design,
operation or safety.

Please take five minutes to tell your representatives in Harrisburg to
vote against this bill.

It's easy and automatic:

What is needed here isn't your most persuasive prose, but a show of hands.

A single line (e.g., Vote NO on SB 862!) will do. Please do it now.

Understand that a vote coming this early in the game is not a good
sign. However, my own feeling is that there are times in life when
one MUST stand up for what one believes to be right even if it means
losing in the short run. Now is such a time, in my opinion.

We shouldn't accept this chipping away of our rights as citizens
without complaint because doing so only emboldens the bullies who
currently occupy the capitol dome. I hope you share my belief that:

1. Crucial safety and zoning decisions should not be made by people we
didn't elect and who have no stake in our city.

2. As citizens we have a right to be heard when something as
potentially disruptive and impactful as a casino is being considered
for our neighborhood.

Thank you for your help in the past. Please join with other
like-minded Philadelphians and let Harrisburg know we object to our
home rule being usurped. Our city urgently needs your help. Please
act now.
