Republic First Bank Sponsors MARC’s Third Annual Free Movie Night
September 25, 2006 – Republic First Bank has pledged more than $1,800 to support the Major Artery Revitalization Committee’s third annual Free Movie Night. The event will take place on Friday, Sept. 29 at 7 p.m. outside the Edwin Forrest Elementary School, located at Cottage and Bleigh streets. This year’s family friendly feature is RV (PG), starring Robin Williams. Refreshments, such as soft pretzels and soda, will be available for $0.25. Be sure to bring a chair or blanket and remember - no bikes, skateboards or scooters are allowed. Also, bring your used toys and be a part of history. Local artist Leo Sewell is creating a 40-foot Statue of Liberty Arm and Torch completely out of donated toys for Please Touch Museum’s 2008 opening in Fairmount Park’s Memorial Hall. Representatives from the museum will be on hand collecting toys. The rain date is Friday, Oct. 6.

Local Families Enjoy MARC’s Third Annual Free Movie Night
October 3, 2006 – Hundreds of local residents turned out for the Major Artery Revitalization Committee’s third annual Free Movie Night, sponsored by Republic First Bank. On Friday, Sept. 29, families gathered with beach chairs, picnic blankets and lawn furniture outside the Edwin Forrest Elementary School, located at Cottage and Bleigh streets, to watch the family comedy RV (PG), starring Robin Williams. Meanwhile, representatives from Please Touch Museum collected an overwhelming number of used toys. Generous residents arrived with trash bags full of their former playthings. Local artist Leo Sewell will create a 40-foot Statue of Liberty Arm and Torch out of the donated toys for the museum’s 2008 opening in Fairmount Park’s Memorial Hall. MARC, Republic First Bank and Please Touch Museum would like to thank all those who attended for making it such a successful night.
