This is a link to a photo I took of the bike path/foot bridge near to Little City (or what in politer circles is called "Duck Hollow Bridge"):

http://files.myopera.com/ImageGuy1/a...LittleCity.jpg

As for Little City when it was back in its heyday, I have nothing but the best memories of that era as it was back when Americans were much freer and happier around here (the pre-Joan Krajewski/Bob Borski/Allyson Schwartz era.) Just to explain what became of Little City, after Philadelphia's industry was forced into a state of collapse by wayward unions and misguided politicians, and unemployment sharply rose in Frankford, Kensington, Fishtown, etc., accordingly, so-called "gentlemen's clubs" began rising up around Penns Landing (all fronts for prostitution, of course) to create new "employment opportunities" for young females from those suddenly depressed areas if they were halfway decent looking, and lovers' lanes throughout the city such as Little City were cracked down upon so as to create a healthy flow of traffic for those newly created businesses. Yes, that's right, morality and raising NE Philly community standards never had anything to do with the shutdown of Little City. At the time the big crackdown occurred, NE Philly was home to a sizeable number of senior citizens who were both very gullible and selfish in their outlooks, thus seeing the big shutdown of Little City as if something "wonderful." It was really a sad and dark time for NE Philly over all. For just like y'all, I have great memories of Little City when it was in its heyday, too. But, alas, how the hell did we go from Joni Mitchell to Joan Krajewski?!

Hmmm. The crack about Borski, Schwartz and Krajewski: Are you a republican?

Regarding Little City: I remember it well too. Imagine my suprise when I went there 6 years ago for the first time after .... 13yrs? New pavements, new parking, new landscaping. Very user friendly, well maintained and inviting.
I believe this all must have happened during the Borski/Krajewski era you're slamming?

Not to mention the fact that Krajewski is a big supporter of the Concert series that happens there all summer long.

What else can you think of to slam them on?

How about his love affair with Raj? As if we needed any more confirmation.

...Apparently, he could have taken him to Little City if it weren't for the damned democrats!

LOL! Really, it borders on a bow tie fetish!

I'm a big fan of "The Apprentice" and Raj didn't make the cut. If Trump won't hire him, why should we?

It will be a sad evening on election night at appx. 8pm when Getrichtryin realizes Raj lost miserably.

Sooner or later you realize some positions will never be taken by a republican. This is one of them, IMO.

However, if Raj wins, I voted for him!!!!!

Uh, just for the record I'm a Democrat. And if I could go back to how this area was before the advent of Borski and Krajewski? In a heartbeat! It would be like wow! For you mention the Pennypack Concert Series as it is now? Well, they're nice and all. But believe me, nothing -- NOTHING -- like the ones held there originally! For the original ones not only had the real stars, but it was also when those stars were in their prime. Kris Kristoffersen and Rita Coolidge in '72 for instance. And classical orchestras performed there, too, and the audience turn outs for them were huuuuge. In today's NE Philly with the education level being as low as it is you couldn't do that. In fact, if I were to compare this part of NE Philly the way it is now to that of my youth, Stephen Vincent Benet's "By the Waters of Babylon" would sum it up best.

And I could say the same for other parts of the city as well.

And see, that's the perspective I hold when anyone tries to sell me on how great Krajewski, or Borski or Schwartz are. For yeah sure, they're "great" if you're truly that naive. But to me they're total lowlifes propped up as if otherwise. But as I say, that viewpoint comes from seeing them from a whole different angle. And to give benefit of the doubt, I think they tried their best and that they meant well as politicians. But....they didn't have the right breeding, the right exposure or whatever it takes to be great leaders. To those with similar upbringings and backgrounds no doubt they look upstanding and respectable. And that's a very hard spell to try to break. And it's there that Raj Bhakta has my fullest sympathies. For why shouldn't NE Philly get back to being great again? Where is it written that it must be overrun and transformed to complete ghetto which his rival Schwartz is so hellbent on steering it towards? I see greatness in Northeast Philadelphia even to this day. But I see it in between and totally separate from what a lot of ignoramuses try to force us into seeing as great.

In any event, Borski is retired now, Krajewski soon will be, and it would be fantastic if we just get Schwartz behind us now, too. For we've had that run, they did their damage, and let's move on now I say.
