Talking Block Party's

This is the big block party weekend up here in Mayfair. Does anywhere else in the city come close to the amount of block party's in their neighborhood? I am just asking because unless you live in a neighborhood you just do not always know. It makes it very hard to get around the neighborhood but it's nice to see all the activity and the party's going on and everyone having fun.

Block parties are one of the things I love most about Mayfair. I saw 4 today- 2 of them a block from my house.

It's a great way for the kids to play freely on the street. I also see all the neighbors talking and laughing with their neighbors and guests. Grills are fired up, beers (and soda) are being drank and everyone looks like they're having a great time.

Maybe next year I'll help organize one for my block. I never had one before.

There was a block party here in Lawndale about a week ago one block from me. They rented one of those bouncy houses for the kids and it seemed like people were having a good time. Never seen these parties before in California, they look like fun, especially if you have kids. Maybe next time I'll go.

Mr C.

I come from cali also. If we had one of those in Cali, the 10, 5, 91, 210, and 15 freeway would experience 50 more miles of back up than it already does. Closing one street in california can turn your one hour trip to the market five hours.

It was funny coming down rowland and all the blocks closed on each side of it! I was at one myself today!

How did you make out with the donations, Philygurl?

You'll be a pro next year. That's quite a job to do single handed.
