Default Congressional poll

Will Melissa Brown's Section 8 bashing win out over Schwartz's Nancy Pelosi-style Bush-bashing? Should be interesting and exciting. This will be an ongoing poll till November.

Of course I voted Schwartz, though I wanted Torsella in the primary. The reason being is that this is an elcetion to CONGRESS, not City Council. While I have been a vocal critic for Section 8 reform, I feel I do not want to give Bush another rubber stamp. Both of these candidates are accomplished women and make very compelling arguments. Schwartz on her education and health care plan and the fact she has a record of being effective in a Republican controlled State Senate. Brown, while she never held public office, holds many degrees and lit a fire under the city of Philadelphia calling for Section 8 reform. On national issues though, I'm gonna have to go Schwartz because I do not agree with Bush's tax cuts that are tilted towards the wealthy and I'm not for giving Bush blank checks on demand either. Another issue which I have not heard a statement on from Brown is overtime pay. Schwartz assures me she opposes any propsed legislation, but Brown has no position on this. I encourage other Northeast voters to swallow their pet peeves about Section 8 and vote Schwartz.

I would definitely vote for Schwartz if I was in the 13th, but I'm in the 1st district where Brady will again be virtually unopposed.

I'm going with Schwartz. Brown just seems desperate to become a politician at this point.

It's funny. Even though I am a moderately liberal Democrat, I kind of wish she were in say City Council. She would definitely balance them out big time. As for Congress, NO WAY! Bush has too many rubber stamps and I quite frankly don't want to give up a Democratic seat for her.

I agree. Brown seems desperate to become a politican and needs to address a variety of issues, not overhype one issue and ignore other issues.

Yes! It's about time people in the Northeast staring waking up to this. I'm getting vibes from the Northeast Times that people here, while peeved over Section 8, will table it and vote for a principled politican like Schwartz though it will be close.
