Have not been on here lately. But this is really totally unrelated to NE Philly. But has anyone gone to the shore via the parkway this year? Of course you have, but last weekend was my first trip down there for the summer season. ANd they now have the new 70cent toll on the parkway.

Well of course I Think I heard about this a while ago, but I was all prepared to throw in my 35cents and I see the sign saying 70cents as I am pulling up.

So I have my window open and I am driving up and then stoping like, and saying it out loud, "What the Hell, When did they raise this" ? Well some woman in a car in the next lane was either laughing AT ME, or laughing at themselves, but they were laughing hysterical. And I think they were trying to dig up the change just like me.

But nothing more to say but that is really a good situation to keep the traffic moving. They have the outgoing from the shore points and there are no toll stops. They have cleared the Toll booth areas and it is open space.

Although my friend down there said they paid 35cents coming over several hours earlier, and we still can't figure that out.

I don't use the parkway or the expressway to get to the shore too much, I usually take rt 55. But when I DO use those roads, I never know what I am paying since I just drive through using my ezpass.

I think it rips people off that exit before where the second toll was.

I was down the shore on vacation this past week, and was surprised to see the $.70 toll on the Parkway...then I realized it was just a one-way thing. I don't remember this set-up from last year, so I guess it's new this summer?

The toll system changed over the off-season. Southbound you now pay only at the Egg Harbor Tolls. Northbound you pay only at the Cape May tolls. The net cost is still the same (70 cents) in each direction.

Take 55. It's worth the N/S Parkway travel and the little bit of slowness on 47/347 (heck 347's pretty!)

I hate the ACE during shore "rushes"

Traffic from the Bridge all the way down to the 3rd lanes...the jams at the tolls (even ezpass) to 7s then heavy traffic south on the Parkway.

You take 55 and fly...then maybe hit some issues on 47 but it's pretty and scenic and spits you out at Sea Isle. (via 9)

I do know that way but am not too familiar.
I like 73 to 50 to route 9.
no tolls - holiday weekends are the worst though, most of it is one lane.

55 to 47 to 9 is the only way
