FYI the first house I bought when I was getting married my father and I pretty much gutted, so all of this stuff is not foreign to me. Even replaced part of my sewer main, outside in the yard buried 3 feet down, by myself. The husband wasn't of much use if it involved getting dirty.

I hated to have to hire anyone to do this work - could have just done it myself - but they wouldn't give me the credit at settlement so it wound up costing them alot more It's funny b/c my realtor/best friend had to go into her office and ask for contractors names that people there use and trust - neither one of us has ever really hired someone to do this kind of stuff.

Man did our parents know how to raise us girls or what!
