And may be accompanied by the infamous Mrs. P.C. It'll be nice to meet you all. I'll be the one already drunk before anyone else arrives. :oLast edited by Polar cub : 08-11-2006 at 06:35 AM. |

Just a reminder. 7:00pm on saturday. Looks like I can't make it due to a family event. If I can make it, I'll be there. A person from the NE Times will be there.
In quotes below is a portion of a PM I got from them in case any of you are curious as to what will be going on. "Thanks for the help in allowing me to visit your gathering. Since the big day is drawing near, I wanted to clue you in on what to expect from me so we can make sure everything is comfortable for you guys. The point of this article isn't by any means to "expose" anybody on the blog. Rather, I want to give a feel of the family it's become and how it is apart of the participants' daily lives. I want to explore in what ways the blog better serves them than the media or other information sources. I want to show the range of people on the blog, from businessmen to housewives, politicians to volunteer workers. I've already talked to Jennifer Kronstain to get some "official" history on the blog. But I really want to focus more on the grassroots aspect, which is perpetuated by you guys, not the corporate people behind it. Of course, you know that we prefer names in the paper and a photographer will be accompanying me. However, because of the preference of shrouded identity for some members, it could also work to use blogger names. The point is, if most people absolutely do not want their names in, there should be some identifying factor." |

If in fact a story and photos are published, I would LOVE to be able to read it if someone would be so kind as to post a link.
Hope the gathering goes well and that everyone has a blast! I would be there but the commute is just a bit too much. ACE, bring your pom-poms ![]()

I think I'm a little new to attend anyway but the fact that there will be a photographer and reporter there kind of sealed the deal.
How many people in here use their real name let alone want their face pasted up in news ink. And you know the captions will be ridiculous: "The noob 'mr california' doubly attends to his hamburger and sheepishly wiping mustard from his chin while mixing with long time bloggers Geno and Ace!" [picture of me with mustard on my face, hamburger in one hand, awkwardly waving at the camera with the other] I don't think so. Not that I have anything to hide mind you..... (or do I?) -- mr c |
