OK here we go. Last week we lost ol betsy, she died and its to much to fix the poor ol girl. So now we are in need of a car. I sent the man out to go on a search and he said he found some rides he would consider. The thing is I dont trust any used car dealer. we are in the middle of getting a conversion van from my mechanic but now we need a second car. He stopped in bell auto and Quaker city cars. Does anyone know anything about these dealers. And if not can anyone recommend a used car dealer in the area. I know pleasent motors is great, but they are a bit high for us right now. Any help would be appreciated right now, thanks

When I buy my next car, I plan on checking out Craigslist (http://philadelphia.craigslist.org) and eBay.

I work at an automotive machine shop. I rebuild engines, cylinder heads ect. when these used car dealers have work they need done they send them to us. Most of the used cars on their lots are from the auction, which isnt all bad. BUT most of them want to buy cheap, temporarily fix what is wrong, and sell them for a reasonable price. All too many used car dealers send parts in to be fixed and say "I just need to sell this thing", in other words we are not doing a complete overhaul as it is needed. but instead just making it work for now. THe only used car dealer that I would recommend to friends or family is a place called "Rally Motors". I have known the owner, Roger, for 11 years and he only buys the best from the auctions and makes sure they are in top shape before he sells them. And if you have a problem after you drive off the lot, he is not like the other guys who tries to get around it. He fixes it. Just last week he sold a van to a guy and the engine went several weeks after that. He gave the guy a loner van and replaced the whole motor at no charge. Other used car dealers are trying to make a quick buck, cars are this guys hobby.
ANyway, I would not recommend any of my customers to friends or family except Rally Motors. He is located at the corner of Rising Sun av. and Martins Mill Road\Kerper st. 6701 Rising Sun Ave. 215-742-5600 www.rally-motors.com

We bought a used mini van from Bell Auto-Feb 05, and even got him to lower his price. He also offers a 90 day warranty, and you can extend the warranty for 3 or 9 more months, whichever you decide.
Nice guy, no pressure. Will buy from again! |
