Post Lots of Robberies in Oxford Circle!!

There has been so many robberies in the area the last two weeks!!
Last week a 19 yr old Female was Robbed then Sexualy Assaulted in the driveway of the 6300 Block of Horrocks..Both the 17 and 18 yr old were caught for this crime, and the police are looking into them possibly being involved in previous incidents in the area..They were following her walking home from a friends on Levick,,now this really freaks me out considering me and my daughter took a walk that same night to Rite Aid and ShopRite..I guess no more walks for me ,,I will drive every where. This sucks considering that I love to take walks in the early evening. The more I learn about this area,,and I sure have seen and heard alot in the short 2 months I have been here, the more I am having the will to tell the landlord that I will have to break the lease here..
I hope everyone Has a Happy Easter!!! Melissa

Move now. Move north at least above Grant.

There are a number of nicer neighborhood in the Northest and Northwest sectrions of the "Northeast"

We all moved out of there a long time ago. It will only get worse.

Castor Gardens, Oxford Circle, Summerdale, Frankford...

They will be the next ghetto in Philly.

I used to have some hope but the situation is getting worse instead of better..even in the last few months.

Just curious - what makes you think it's going to stop at Grant Ave.? Or are you thinking you can just buy a few extra years before the plague extends to that area as well?

I can think of at least five places above Grant Avenue where I wouldn't walk around at night and I live up here.

I believe this is well above Grant.

Why not advise people to get a real head start on the problem and move to the Poconos? The problem is compounded when people run en masse to escape it.

The recent additions to the NE responsible for the shooting just moved from...

Shocker...

"At the West Philadelphia home of Comoniti Thomas, who is not related to Vincent Thomas, his mother, Annie, said she did not know why her son was in Bustleton yesterday morning."

Thanks West Philly.

Than very specific group of twins by Washington has always had issues. Rental properties will kill entire sections...like Mayfair.

Give me a real reason to stay. I know Lawndale was a great community at one time but it's like a cancer speading from North Philly. Your house declines in value...you start hearing about thefts, then robberies, then outright shootings.

Most shootings/hard crime in the far NE are cause by non-NE residents...as is most of the "headline" crime like the hooker who was dumped or the shootout at the Pool Hall a couple years ago.

Just a question...but would they be the following areas?

1. The area directly north of Red Lion and Veree (Rental twins)
2. 7-11 at Academy and Byberry
3. Projects at Academy and Frankford

but in reality these are just teenager heavy areas...besides the recent shooting very quiet.

So you really think there are sketchy parts of the Far NE?

I keep forgetting that...idiots. (mtself included)

Before the artificial increase the values plummeted.

Should have left that one off.

Basically south of Cottman is a lost cause.

My opinion of course.
