My parents both grew up near the Mayfair theatre. i grew up near the Parkwood Theatre, which has been closed for 21 years now, and is now stores and offices. My niece memories of a movie theatre when she's older will be AMC Neshaminy 24 Theatre (where I work at, by the way), and REG Oxford Valley Stadium 14 Theatre.

The Mayfair, as well as the Parkwood, and the RKO Stanley Warner's Midway Theatre, will be missed.

Red face Mayfair Movie Theater Photos

Came across something that I was working on ummmm like over 2 years ago. Kind of never posted the rest of the photos I had taken at the time. Some may be interested in seeing them.

After breaking down the brick facade of the old Thrift Drug Store the old movie poster boxes of the Mayfair Movie Theater were exposed. I managed to get photos of them prior to being covered up or destroyed altogether, really don't know what happened to them. They may be hidden once again under the new facade.

Kind of a little bit of a buried treasure from the past.

And something that is no longer there, a photo of the Old Orleans Movie Theater.

Do you know if the auditorium of the Mayfair is still intact?
I would like to get a photo of the murals that were on the walls in
that place.

Thanks for the neat pictures! I was born way too late, I'm telling you. I would have LOVED to be around when places like that had their heyday.

Hahahaha. You got the "Y" bus in one picture. Oh I mean the 70 bus. Shows how old I am calling it the "Y".

Thanks for those. Oh look the woman at the bus stop just missed her bus. She looks a wee bit cold. Probably had to wait another half an hour.
Oh yes, the old Y bus............

Great to hear, they will give the check cashing business a run for their money , plus give the local residents better service because of the competition.

3D porno? I must have missed that one On second thought maybe it was better that I did miss it. I don't really think I would like to see someones pimpled behind up close and personal.

When I visit the area, I really don't take notice of the all the changes. Actually I said before I retired a few years ago, I used to be in the area frequently.
