I've requested public trashcans as there aren't any on my block...

The people waiting for the bus don't care if they litter. There needs to be a trash can on every block until you get to Frankford.

The litter can get thick near huberts at times from living near there. You'd think that more public trashcans would be in order since the school has quite a few students, plus cottman loop there.
I think it is more than the school, it has to do with the bus depot and 3 fast food type joints right across the street. I was never happier than when they got rid of MCDonalds on Frankford avenue...no more Mcdonald's trash on my sidewalk!

If we'd have done that crap back in the 80's we;d have been kicked the hell out of Hoebert's.

We did sneak ciggies in people's cubbyholes though.

On the Lincoln thread I also had said the mouths on those girls are so foul I felt like knocking their rotten teeth out on the 66. There were elderly ladies on there, and they just rolled their eyes. I guess it's this generation. I don't know. If there's no consequences why not swear like a sailor, and be disrespectful to the elderly. Little MOFO's. LOL

Oh, and welcome, Eyes. Nice welcome eh?

Yeah, the one thing I've noticed since I moved here 6mo ago is the amount of litter on the sidewalks and curbs. It's very noticable on alot of the streets.
Litter really makes a neighborhood look dumpy.
It would be great to see more trash cans on corners. But all the trash cans in the world won't help unless the kids are taught not to litter.
This area has alot of schools: Huberts, St. Bernards, Forest Elementery, Lincoln and Austin Meehan and the Charter School at Rhawn/Torresdale.
Not to mention, there is a corner store on almost every block around here.

I don't know why the schools can't do an Anti-Litter campaign funded by the city or the More Beautiful committee. This needs to be drilled into these kids heads consistently NOT TO LITTER. Throw your trash in the trash can or keep it in your pocket till you get home.

One sign of a declining neighborhood is the amount of litter on the streets..and if the neighbors allow it to sit there or not.
