I know she was home and I knocked on the door, but she refused to answer it. I called the police and they also knocked but she wouldn't answer the door.

They are now refering me to Landlord-Tenant court, but it has to wait until Tuesday. They will grant me an injunction to get in the house to collect my belongings and I may be able to file charges against her and possibly get her locked up. Other than that there is nothing more I can do. This is beyond ridiculous. I was the best roommate she could ever have -- always paid rent on time, was barely in the house to begin with, and didn't have a lot of stuff, and didn't even use common areas all that much. She's just a f-ing "c" word. I'm sorry I don't like to say that but in this case it really is appropriate! *sigh*

I'm frazzled as you may imagine.
You should be able to get your stuff she is* a "C" word you are right...I wish she read this blog!

It took 2 cops and a locksmith, but I got my stuff out of that house in Mayfair today. She acted all confused by this. The cops explained she was breaking the law. It's called "illegal lockout" and I had every legal right to go into the home and get my things. She said some pretty interesting things, all lies of course. The cops totally saw right through her.

Not that it should have surprised me, but ALL of my belongings, except my desk and dresser, were personally moved into the GARAGE by her. How nice, huh? Trust me I was FUMING!

I'm just glad to have my things and to be out of there for good.

I really don't know when/if I can get there for a meetup now. I think under the circumstances I'll just stay in Jersey for awhile.

Good for you, Marilyn. You were wise to do that. You acted a civil as possible. I give you credit.

I need to learn from that because I am impulsive, and I'd have been getting locked up. So through your hardship you've helped someone.

Right. You don't want to be running into her up here. So when you are settled me thinks you can have a PAR-TAY at your place. LOL Oh make it a house warming that way we'll bring gifts besides a bottle of wine.

Really glad you made out good. I'm proud of you. If it's alright with you we'll make your send off a Geno Is King night.
