Unfortunately there will be no meet-up as I am now officially a resident of New Jersey.

The bitch, er ex-housemate kicked me out for the lamest excuse EVAR and I had to do a quick move to Mount Holly. We'll be here temporarily but have settled on an apartment in Red Bank.

I'm looking forward to this new chapter in my life.

I will miss the Grey Lodge and the city of Philadelphia, but new adventures await.

I'll still be lurking on this board though.

I'm from Mt. Holly. I hope you enjoy your stay there. I haven't been to the Vincentown Diner since it went non-smoking and that was a couple years back but it used to be good! The snapper soup was their thing!

Acme is the better grocery store in town. Also, High Street has some nice places to visit.

It's a nice small town. What neighborhood will you be in?

The only area I'd avoid is the ghetto- The Gardens. Other than that, it is a super safe town.

Not only did the evil bitch kick me out of the house with 1 day notice (not even really) and refuse to give me a pro-rated portion of the rent that I paid for through February, but she also got the door locks changed so I can't even get into the house to get the rest of my stuff. I know she was home and I knocked on the door, but she refused to answer it. I called the police and they also knocked but she wouldn't answer the door.

They are now refering me to Landlord-Tenant court, but it has to wait until Tuesday. They will grant me an injunction to get in the house to collect my belongings and I may be able to file charges against her and possibly get her locked up. Other than that there is nothing more I can do. This is beyond ridiculous. I was the best roommate she could ever have -- always paid rent on time, was barely in the house to begin with, and didn't have a lot of stuff, and didn't even use common areas all that much. She's just a f-ing "c" word. I'm sorry I don't like to say that but in this case it really is appropriate! *sigh*

I'm frazzled as you may imagine.

What???? She knew you were already moving. What did you do borrow her shoes without telling her?

I wrote you on myspace before I knew about this. That is alot of stress that landlord/tenant thing. Oh, no. No way she kept your stuff? In all seriousness she needs to be opening that door. Oh yes.

I'm sorry you're going through that, Marilyn. Oh well we'll have to have a Marilyn left party. I'll have five Ta-Kill-Ya's for you. Red BanK? What the heck? What are you going to do there fish? J/K

We'll miss you, lady. Check out your PM's. It may help.

NE ladies. It now is a Geno is King party, and wheelbarrow you are invited.

Yeah ACE, it's quite clear to everyone I know and have told that she is breaking the law. I guess she doesn't realize this or other (stupid) people are telling her it's completely legal to keep me from my things. The cops said it's called "theft by unlawful taking". So when I go to the court I hope they issue an order for her to open the door and just let me get my things. She can have anybody she wants there, a gaggle of friends, family members, and the police can all be there. I just want to get IN and get my stuff out of there. I don't think that is much to ask for!!

She's just vile.

I saw this same scenario on Judge Judy a few weeks ago (hey, I was stuck on a conference call where I had nothing else to do so don't laugh at me!)
Anyways, Judge Judy said essentially what you said above and found for the tennant giving a judgement for the unused part of the rent and for the stuff that the landlord admitted she sold. Good luck!
