Default SO aggravating- snow emergency

For 11 years I have lived here, for 9 of those years the snow emergency routes were strictly enforced ticketing and towing people who stayed parked on the street. Last year NOTHING not even a ticket was written for the jerks who didnt move. The result was Cottman avenue was narrowed down to one lane in each direction the result of a few cars on each side not moving. Last year we were out there for days trying to chop the three feet of solid ice and snow just to get the parking back again. But where are the 15th police district officers are they not working? DO they not see the cars parked on a snow route? There cant be much crime happening and noone is on the roads. Something is going wrong here.

I was just talking about how crappy Cottman Ave was last year. I was also amazed how it was down to one lane.

I am so disgusted and if you call the 15th they give you the snow emergency hotline which is just a number to call to see what the routes are or where your car has been taken.

I watched about 5 cop cars go down Cottman Ave. around 12, I also think its a disgrace, but I am sure when they have a bad accident who will be first to blame anyone. And what about those 3 wheelsers arent they illegal in
philadelphia. I saw one go right past a cop car with 2 children on it.

How bad is the parking space hoarding today? Were chairs, cones etc.....placed out yesterday?
Sorry to hear Cottman is such a mess. It's unreal that they don't enforce the parking laws.
I guess the good news is this snow is gonna dissappear pretty quickly.

Smile Parking

How about writing an e mail to John Perzel about the problem. The Republicans are running the parking authority and seem very willing to enforce parking regulations.

Since it is his district he will more then likely give you some kind of response or help with the matter. I don’t always agree with Mr. Perzel , However it is my experience that when you write or call his office you do get some kind of a response. Try this link to Hallwatch to contact him. http://www.hallwatch.org/index_html

Default so heres what I did

I went and knocked on the neighbors doors who had not moved their cars and luckily they came out and moved them, (instead of getting mad at me). My husband and I helped dig out the four cars, pushed them out etc. Plows just went down and got close to the sidewalk so at least my end of the block is plowed but the other end and the other side is not. the business day will bring alot of parking woes around here. But we still need to find out why the snow emergency isnt enforced, this is a major link from 95 and to 95 this street will be crazy tomorrow morning with the one side of the street down to one lane.

I did see an officer enforcing the snow emergency route on Harbison ave. today. Across from St. Bart's the officeer stopped and was starting to write up the car. But didn't when the owner came out and started digging it out. There were still quite a few cars on torresdale though and I didn't see ant police there.

On a different topic a police car blew through a stop sign today where I was about to cross the street, he didn't seem to be hurrying anywhere. I mean come on, they should obey traffic laws.
