the 56 runs right down torresdale ave, you can take it all the way to erie and torresdale to get on the el. you can take it the other way and go to cottman ave to get another bus to take you to roosevelt mall.
you'll be right near chink's steaks....

Top reason to move in this minute.

Is it that little complex right on the corner?

Bub's you can actually also walk up to the 66 too if need be. It's quite a few blocks but that Torresdale Avenue bus is really convenient. You'll be by the pool we were discussing on pool thread. American Legion. Skip the pool. LOL

Default Torresdale Avenue Area

Bubbles,

I moved out of Tacony a few years back, so I may not be the best responder...but here goes...

I cannot speak to the apartment building itself, but the surrounding area is still full of a lot of great people and homes. You will have some of the same issues faced by many people in the Northeast (some lousy folks), but for the most part, the people in that area of "Tacinoming" care about their homes and keep an eye out for their neighbors.

Good Luck with the new place.

In my opinion the area isn't awful but it's also not the best. Try looking a little farther north and avoid living right on Torresdale ave if you can. It can be a bit noisy.

that's definately Wissinoming. And its alright. The 56 is a great bus route. I think you would probably be happier on one of the side streets as opposed to on Torresdale.
As to shopping. You'll probably need to go to Mayfair or down Aramingo for that. there isn't much on torresdale other than convience stores, a laundromat and chinks. Oh and of course bars.

What's up everyone,

Well I went to see the apartment and it wasn't good at all. The door entrance was about 10 inces from the ground and across from a funeral home.

That is wissanoming. It is hot and cold there but if you find the right place you can be gold. Look more towards Harbison ave. Its been a while since I lived there but did so when I returned from PGH and it was good. I gfo back from time to time when I am in the city and it still looks pretty deccent. Around bridge and torresdale it gets a little shakey but if you stay off the main drags (torresdale) you should be able to find something sweet. Good luck

Bubbles: Maybe you mentioned this before, but what is your price range?
I know you need to be near transportation, but what else are you looking for in an apartment? Have you considered renting a house?
