Thanks for the replies and I'm now thinking maybe we should look for a home to rent. All I need is to be in a good location near transportation and shopping but not to far from the trains. When I went to see the place I did not like the area.
I would like a nice size living room and bedroom but if I could luck up with a basement or yard that would be fine. So much disappointments. It's funny when you're talking to the person renting the space and ask them to tell me about the place and they just be lying to your a@%.

She can ask Marilyn too then. Marilyn has been living right by there.

You can walk to virtually everything, and anything you need. You're at the 66. You have WAWA. Plus bonus Grey Lodge walking distance. It's much nicer there than the Torresdale Avenue locale.

Was it in that little complex, Bubbles?

I live right not far from there.... 6100 block is Ok, its much better where I am . fair warning dont go below the 5800 block of torresdale. Its terrible the neighboorhood is full of drugs and crime. 6100 is a good area to be in . There is a Mcdonalds, a Salvation army thrift, and further up is the Library.Eckerts drug store. Few other little places.

My girlfriends live at like Comly/Torresdale area. Holy smokes. The kids that moved out joke, and ask how the ghetto is.

I was walking to the flea market one morning, and all these cars are doing this long stare, and then back around. I'm thinking what the heck?

One stops, and is asking for a date. I was like "You have to be kidding me. I'm 45 you a*s in a pleather jacket, and Easy spirit sneaks". I mean what's with that? Didn't faze him. He just drove away.

It's very, very sad. I used to love that Avenue. I won't take my daughter in DiGuilio's for sneakers. The one poor girl in there got pistol whipped. Too dangerous.

Up at Harbison& Frankford though is way better. My friend grew up on Mulberry right there. It seems a little more quiet. Wawa has some action though eh? Phewwww. Bubble's would be able to get to Shop&Bag, and well everyhting from there.

Default For Rent...

Hi Bubbles,

I have a place that is for rent a little further up in holmesburg- I just recently bought the place and need to move to be closer to my job. Its a condo with a nice fenced yard, washer, dryer, dishwasher, central air, pool and a private fenced yard with a patio...

If you are interested let me know and I will give you specifics.

I live right by the flea market. It gets crazy on the weekends. But I would not consider my neighborhood dangerous.

OH crap I walk past DeGuilios everyday!! I didnt know about the Pistol whip. That girl - She worked there for a while I think. I used to buy my daughters school shoes in there but I hardly go in there anymore.
My friend was standing at that corner of Torresdale and Howel and got her wallet grabbed right out of her hand -a guy on a bike did it.And right at Cheltenham & T there has been numerous purse snatches. That as well is a drug zone.

Up near the Rite aid at Larue st/and T I already had this one guy repeatedly make remarks to me in a sexual conatation to try to get a date... Its just not "safe" to be walking around in your own area anymore. And no one knows anybody anymore . All or most of the regulars moved. Im gonna be one of last ones to leave... only cause I cant get out now.

It was only a matter of time before problems reached the flea market.

I wasn't actually down to the flea market yet, Pete. This was crossing Torresdale Avenue, and then one of the side streets. I think it was Comly.

I love the flea market.
