Woudl that be considered lower northeast? where is mayfair?

Geez..don't you ever leave Center City?

Mayfair, Philadelphia

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.

Mayfair is a neighborhood located in the Northeast section of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Mayfair came to fruition in the years following World War II as a community that provided fresher and more spacious living in an urban environment. It was constructed over farmland in the area around the established neighborhoods of Tacony, Holmesburg and Fox Chase. Mayfair featured several groundbreaking concepts for city dwellers: bigger rowhomes with yards in the front and parking garages in the back. The automobile became the primary mode of transportation and shopping retail centers became available close to home, as shopping districts developed along Roosevelt Boulevard and Cottman Avenue. Development also served to connect the surrounding neighborhoods of the Northeast that had previously been isolated. In these regards, Mayfair was a forerunner to American suburbanization, an early part of the population shift from the inner city to its outer regions. Although Mayfair has long been a white middle class neighborhood somewhat removed from Center City, it has always been decisively urban, and its population has diversified in recent years.

And more on the NE...

Neighborhoods of The Northeast section of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Academy Gardens - Ashton-Woodenbridge - Bridesburg - Burholme - Bustleton - Byberry - Castor Gardens - Fox Chase - Frankford - Holmesburg - Juniata - Lawncrest - Lexington Park - Mayfair - Millbrook - Modena Park - Morrell Park - Normandy - Oxford Circle - Parkwood - Pennypack - - Rhawnhurst - Ryers - Somerton - Tacony - Torresdale - Upper Holmesburg - Winchester Park - Wissinoming

Throw in Krewstown, Summerdale, Lawndale...probably missin a few..

Each of these areas is easily as big/populated as Old City...some around the size of University City (like Mayfair)..

well, you said it not me. geno must have gotten them there skills in his time outside the northeast. I suppose you missed the part where the founder of the board lived in old city. Old City is fairly active...besides, we don't want them in our center city board. the join us and they'll start complaining that this thread should have been started and that one is too long.
