There aren't any major gangs in Philly and probably never will be be. Much of what happens on the street originates in the prisons and out here the prisons are too well established to let outsiders in. The last time Philly had a gang problem was probably during the 70's and the early 80's but even then it was just neighborhood versus other neighborhood. They never had fancy colors or specific identifiers as gangs in LA or Chicago did which is probably why many didn't last. You may see the occasional "wannabe" here and there but (super) gang activity is pretty much non existent. There is actually more gang activity in cities and suburbs in New Jersey then Philly. I know for a fact Trenton had a huge gang problem in the recent years.
Oh yea the Philly MOB (LCN) was horrible. And yes they were considered a laughing stock by their NYC associates. They couldn't even control the JBM. |

We do indeed have gangs. From my neck of the Woods, we have our Bloods, most of which is a sect called 5.M.M (Sex Money Murder), and meets at FDR. Our Crips, from what I've noticed is has a good handful of white kids. We also have some sort of Vietnamese gang that congregates in park that extends from 5th & Ritner to 6th & Wolf.
