Look into Spanky's eyes - pure evil!

I'd rather "they" wore white than black, this way I can at least see them. Seriously, some people are wearing all black so that they become the "perfect predator".

This is only an EXAMPLE. There are many ways for it to appear! I hope this works! LOL

There are a few tags on the 1600 block of S. Carlisle and Rosewood. It's still a joke.
From what i hear it was a problem about 20 years ago and mostly because of problems with Vietnamese kids - beatings turned into a series of escalating reprisals. A lot of them, after serving jail time, since they're here on refugee status, are being sent back to Cambodia. But yeah, the tags around here are from 13 year old kids "frontin." You don't see asian kids out on the street past 8pm unless it's the weekend and their parents are out there with them. |

My impression is that, aside from a few exceptions, most gang related activity in Philly is based on a "corner" system. In South Philly, growing up, there were numerous corners. 10th and Oregon (still around and strong), Twelfth and Wharton, 3-T-0 (30th and Tasker), 16th and and Shunk, Second and Porter, Second and Jackson, Second and Reed and 11th and Porter. These were in the white neighborhoods. Same with many of the black communities. They aren't gangs per se, but have similarities. Some are extremely well organized. Others are just kids getting together and getting hammered.
After looking into the issue, I've noticed that the "national gangs" have more luck with new immigrants, Cambodian (bloods and crips), Latin Kings (Latinos), and something I would call "your hobby is your lifestlye" folks (motor cycle gangs). |

If gangs are such a joke here, why did the PD in the last year form a Gang Control Unit working out of the Intelligence Unit? They're here. They're real. It is a problem that could be potentially worse if ignored. |
