They Tore Down My School
Three years ago I stumbled on my old school. One year ago I tried to find it again to sort of document the building and the neighboorhood. Too late! It was gone.
OK, I didn't have the motivation at the right time, but I'm hoping someone out there is willing to share whatever they might have in way of pictures, etc. Hartranft Grammar School (class of '52) Penguinella Last edited by Penguinella : 06-18-2007 at 04:16 PM.

Aside from knowing where it was (720 W. Cumberland St. for those unfamiliar with it), all I know is that the school was named after a Union general from the Civil War.
Not much help there; sorry... What now occupies the space where the school stood?

Well the actual address is something. Who knows?
As of a few months ago it's just an empty lot. Much of the neighboorhood too. I have seen the area referred to as the Badlands, something like that. Thanks P
