Default Rumors of Temple taking over PHA properties???

Has anyone heard any news of Temple plans to buy certain PHA properties near their campus for expansion, such as Norris Homes. I'm thinking this might just be a rumor. I heard third-hand that PHA had sent out letters to some housing project tenants stating this to be happening by the end of the year.

My recollection, having checked Hallwatch, is that Temple already owns a lot of vacant properties in the 1400 block of Norris.

If you look at BRT's website, too, you see concentrations of PHA owned properties on certain blocks. This has always made me feel vaguely uncomfortable about looking at properties next door--would like to know more about how they get disposed of ultimately.

PHA has a huge scattered site inventory in North Philly, many concentrated west of Temple, and mostly vacant. Many should make the list of dangerous properties that need to come down. What is going on with them is hidden, as usual.
There are several vacants on 1600-1800 blocks of Montgomery Avenue, two on 19th (1817 and 1819).

Somebody should do a map of blighted blocks in North Philly, and show the specific blighting influence of these vacant PHA homes on these blocks!
