Question Area around Margaret Orthodox Train Station

Hi there:
Considering going to look at an apartment around the Margaret Orthodox Train Station. What section of the city is this considered? Can someone tell me what the area around that el stop is like and what amenities if any might be available? Safety? Particularly if you know anything about the area around Penn and Leiper Streets or so I would appreciate it.

Thanks,

One of the worst areas of the city...and it's trying to be #1 worst and succeeding.

Just take the El there one afternoon during the week around 6 PM and see for yourself.

Wanna live in the NE? Try Cottman Ave or points north.

You are better off, and safer, in East Kensington (east of the El south of the Erie-Torresdale station).

If you are seriously considering Frankford as an option--I would do Kensington instead and get as close to Fishtown as possible.

And this is why you should donate to PACCA, not PETA:

In September, PETA made headlines in Vermont and across the nation for asking
Ben & Jerry's ice cream to use human breast milk in their ice cream, instead of cow milk

I wouldnt want any parts of Kenzo......

Look around Juniata, Erie Kensington and Torresdale....Thats if you must be in that area....More east of the EL then anything.

You must undestand that almost anywhere north of Girard and Close to the EL is going to be bad...Hate to say it but its true.

Yeah, it seems to have gone downhill.
I grew up on Penn between Arrott & Foulkrod, but moved out during my senior year of college (20 years ago). I get back up that way every once in a while if I'm out seeing clients for work, and it's gotten pretty scary.
