Sweet.
I'm sure given the murder climate in the city, shooting a robber in the back isn't that likely to get you sent off to prison. It's not going to be hard to select a jury made up of people who live in violent neighborhoods. Matt O'Donnell.... ::fawn:: ![]()

Im amazed the shop owner wasnt hit and he managed to shoot both of the robbers....one fatally in the head. I bet youll hear that the suspects were "nice guys" that helped little old ladies cross the street LOL....

I didn't believe this until I worked in an ER myself...only some people I talked to claimed to be on their way to church. Most told me they were shot by "some dudes" they didn't know...while minding their own business. The worst was when I entered a room to assess someone as they were detaching themselves from their monitors...one patient was shot multiple times in the abdomen and left AMA to "settle some business". I cannot imagine living like that...

According to a report I read elsewhere, this is the second time in 14 years this store owner has had to defend himself in such a way.

"settle some business"...
The last time I was in my local Verizon store to get my cell phone replaced. Next to me at the service desk was this big guy with jailhouse tattoos, grills, a big State Property coat, multiple rings on about 5 fingers, and he was BOILING mad about his phone. No big deal, right? Well, he was upset about the Verizon representative telling him that his phone would not be ready to pick up until 4:30. Nearly at the top of his lungs he was arguing the point that he had a business meeting at 4. Mind you, this is a Verizon store in a well known Center City skyscraper. I see office workers everyday around this particular area, and this person did not appear to be one who had an "urgent matter" to attend to anywhere up in the high rises.

If you click cerebrus's video link and watch the TV coverage this morning, they actually played the older video clip. Actually, this is the SECOND time the store owner has killed a would-be robber in 14 years. A bystander said this is about the 5th or 6th time he's been robbed. Between killings, he moved his store to a different location in WOL. I mean... the chances of you getting robbed at gunpoint running a store in Philly are probably higher than hitting the lotto... but to have it happen to you twice? That's just nutty. And it wasn't even a convenience store... it was one of those little breakfast delis. Not exactly your typical target.
