you can call his office directly and speak to him or someone on his staff or...you can check www.phila.gov, Deleon Mr and Mrs are to go to court during the Spring...its public record, so prove it to yourself. Its a shame folks are so quick to fly off the handle. I cannot imagine. This man raised his daughter after his wife died 29 years ago and now plays a strong role in raising his grandson. A dedicated father, a man of the military, I am wondering how dare you....I cannot be offended. In the business of politics, one thing Deleon taught me is to be thick skinned and do not let certain things bother me. Funny how we as constituents want to be viewed as human beings and such yet when it comes to electeds we only see titles. They are people like you. Humans are prone to err, in this case I think you are wrong and in error. So I forgive, and understand. Please check your facts before you carry on in such an immature fashion...

If this were a debate, you would lose big time. And you clearly aren't a lawyer, because if you were, you would know that empty denials will never win the day. If you want to sway any opinions, why don't you:

(1) Identify the specific facts that are untrue;
(2) Explain the "true" facts;
(3) Point to some evidence or other support for your contentions.

BTW, what is the point of linking to the Philadelphia government website? I did a search for "DeLeon" and came up empty. I also checked the dockets in the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas and the Eastern District of PA, and found no lawsuits by James DeLeon. So where is this mystery lawsuit pending?

All me and Shosh asked for was proof. So far you provided a Civil Docket Report for a lawsuit against WERNER. Who is Werner?

I apologize if you feel I am hyper...Do not know how you could have gotten that. I felt like the previous numerous post were very childish and untrue.

So lastly, for those who are reading a little too much into this...As everyone else I used the forum as a means to vent, communicate and educate. I wish to no longer discuss this issue. If you need more information, my advice AGAIN

check my previous emails and contact the man yourself...go to the source and email him, call him...should he feel this warrants a response I am sure he will take time to email you or call you back. If not, I already feel this has taken too much of my time. Do not want a blog fight for something or about something I already know to be true. Just when I saw the long string of childish asinine emails it raised an eyebrow...

check your facts before you try to check someone else...

Thanks ... I guess I had put a space between "De" and "Leon" so it didn't come up.

Towlie, it looks like he's suing everyone -- cops, reporters, newspaper, etc. It'll be a very difficult case to prove (the defendants have a lot of potential defenses, in addition to "truth").

WOW I didn't see I could scroll down. Thats A LOT of lawsuits. How much is that costing our city? Is that really how he wants to prove his innocence? Costing us millions in court fees? Couldn't he just do an interview in the press where he clarifies whether he was involved with the bar or not?

I guess we will find out in March.

That was a different Judge. I believe Willis Berry Jr is who you are thinking of.

Look at all the comments.

Just so you know, he let Allen Iverson walk like a king while in this city. When Iverson was on trial, DeLeon brought his family to meet the defendent. Thats about as unethical as it gets. Thats why I want proof presented before me to change my mind. Something Fareeda doesn't seem to be able to present. Only tells me to call his office so I can get another "next question" comment like I am at a T.O press conference. Or shows me how much of our courts time he is trying to waste to save his speakeasy.

Sounds to me like just another case of denial that seems to be prevalent within that "community".
