Here's a developer trying to weasle out of a signed Contract. He built a development for low income people in Camden. Signed a Contract with the State & Housing people that after 15 yrs. he would sell the houses to the tenants for $1.00 each.
Well 15 yrs are past. Now he's saying the people won't be able to afford the transfer fees and he has to get approval from the State because they hold a 2nd mortgage on the properties, and he has to get approval from his investors. BOO HOO ! First of all; if he didn't fully disclose the terms of his original contract with the State and his investors that's fraud. 2nd: When did he acquire a 2nd mortgage? The tenants have lived there 15 yrs with knowledge of the original contract. They have maintained and kept up their properties. With that kind of committment, I'm sure any bank will be glad to help them finance the few hundred dollars necessary for the transfers. They lived up to their end of the bargain. It's time for him to put up or shut up. That is until a lawyer comes in with a class action lawsuit. |

I never realized Camden was a shore point.
