Default Cheesesteaks down the shore?

Yeah, yeah.
I know.

Going to school in Philly has spoiled my taste my just any old "cheesesteak." Now I have hankerings for cheesesteaks and of course, all the places that offer "'Philly' cheesesteaks" are definitely not the real thing. It doesn't help that I live in the New York sphere of influence either.

Is there anyplace you know of (preferably in central Jersey; Monmouth, Ocean...) that has something remotely authentic? None of this sliced, but not chopped meat/real steak/kaiser roll/panini bread/mushroom crap I have to suffer up here.

I would go to Philly for the real thing, but 130 miles round trip is not worth it, even with the slightly cheaper gas.

Anyone?

I, too, am originally from Central Jersey (Middlesex County) and know it can be tough finding a good cheesesteak north of Trenton. That said, I haven't found one. In the Southern Jersey Shore area, it seems you can find a steak as good as any corner pizza shop in Philly. However, north of Ocean County, I'm not sure I've ever seen it on the menu.

Hmm... thanks anyway D-Man! Hmmm, if I ever had the money, maybe I will open up a cheesesteak place in Belmar or Long Branch or something.

The best all around cheese steak in the tri-state area has to be the White House in Atlantic City. The Cheese steak sub is the bomb.

When I worked at the radio station in Manahawkin, just off of LBI, I went to this pizza place down the street, Antonios, I think. But he had a really good cheesesteak (for being in the location he was in) It was right near a wawa just off 72.

Problem there is at times they cook large piles of meat and it can sit for an extended period. I found Mr D's on New Jersey Ave just south of Rio Grande much better. But finding a really good cheesesteak/steak down the shore isn't easy.
