Default Where to stay in N. Wildwood or AC?

I am trying to go to the shore for Saturday and stay the night.

I've never been to either N. Wildwood or AC, but would go to either on the strength of what I've been told about them.
But where should I stay? I know availability of a room might be an issue, but are there any relatively cheap places? I'd really prefer not to spend $200/night.

Thanks

Doubt you'll find anything in Wildwood unless you go door to door and get lucky. Everything's booked for the summer.

Your best bet might be the Days Inn in AC. It's a block off the boardwalk, right near the Tropicana, I believe.

For what it's worth... Personally, I would rarely consider paying $300 for a hotel room anywhere, never mind a Days Inn in Atlantic City!

Have you considered just making it a day trip? Seriously, it's not that far of a drive & honestly, again in my opinion at least, AC isn't all it's cracked up to be.

Anyway, just noting that you said you've never been before, I think you should brace yourself for at least a little disappointment.

Default Holy Mackrel

$300 sounded crazy, but I went and looked at some of the room prices for this Sat in AC and jeez .... $549, $499, $359 and they want me to gamble too???

I could see for a weekend package with some kinda show or something for 2 but wow .... no wonder I don't go to AC.

Here are some other places which still seem way overpriced for what it is to me but some are less than $300 ...

http://www.achotelexperts.com/casinos/harrahs.html

Just enter a check in date and it will list a bunch of other hotels and their availbility, but hell maybe they are already booked and only $300 rooms are left .... foot rub included for that $300?

With tax included, only the Knights Inn would be cheaper, and I would have to drive to the casinos and beach. Because I want to be boozing, driving's out. If the Knights Inn was the only hotel with vacancies, I'd just drive back to Philly.

EDIT: I decided after much deliberation that I was being silly. I cancelled the Days Inn room and booked at the Showboat.
From the link a few posts back:
Deluxe Room, King or 2 Queens, Sat Aug 4, 9,937.00.
It's only $10,000! What a steal!
