WW was great in the 70's you could rent a room with 2 single beds for $5 a night only 2 blocks from the beach, you would share a bathroom with everyone who stayed on your floor, but it didn't matter most nights you never made it back anyhow.

OMG, I remember staying at places like that back in the late 60's/early 70's!!! The one we stayed at the most was at 24th & Atlantic (I think), and was torn down eons ago...I think it's a parking lot now. Ahhhhhhhh, fond memories of Ye Olde Cheapie Rooming House.

The only parking lot at 24th and Atlantic is for the Athens Pancake House(changing ownership/name at the moment I think). If you'd like I'll walk out the front door and take a pic of the intersection for you.

Hehehehe...not necessary, but thanks anyway. I'll just treasure the memories of a long-ago time.

The Cardinal Motel is on one of the corners if that helps jog the memory at all.

Did anybody ever go under the boards and stick a $5 bill up through the boards then pull it back down when somebody would bend over to grab it or were you the one bending down to get the money?Great times....
