I'd like to hear canidates talk more about social security. It seems like after privatization was knocked down, this issue got put on the back burner. Even with my 401k that I have been contributing to since I was 18, I still won't have enough to live on if you factor in living longer, inflation, healthcare, etc. I know some "richer" folks wouldn't approve, but it's time for rich folks to contribute more.
I've always thought the war on drugs was a losing battle and we keep spending money to keep drugs on even though they constantly get in. Alot of violent crime is drug related and the trickle down effect is enormous with the cost of incarceration. The families that are broken up and the social services that are needed because of these broken up families. It's really time to rethink our policy on drugs and even rehabiliation. I really wish the policitians would stop talking about drilling for more oil to ween us off our dependency and really get serious about alternative fuel sources. We have the mother of all energy sources available and yet everyone screams oil. It's okay for us to use oil, as long as it's not from the Middle East How will the war on terror effect my children and my grandchildren? And what are we doing to not create more terrorist? Will some sort of mandatory enlistment begin here, sort of like Israel?
