Wonder how that one got on the books.

Is gambling illegal there? So the logic would be that you can't rob someone of what you rightfully own that they obtained illegally? Since the murder charge still stuck, can't they execute him for that?

So in Ark., you can't get the death penalty for killing small time hustlers who cheat you in an illegal card game. I bet that will change the face of law enforcement in Ark. Now there will be streets running with blood and a wild west atmosphere.

Pfft. Why did CNN bother reporting this?

I stopped watching those big new broadcasts because they're like a bunch of little instigators who go around poking at people, wanting to rile them up so they can sit back and collect the dough on behalf of the people who get sucked into their little web.
I don't trust the idea of corporations controlling the news media. I don't like how they can manipulate people. I don't like how they blow certain things out of proportion that have no real value except to get people angry and upset. Than other very important things go not talked about.
I don't like that they're getting rich off advertisers who use their air time and I believe the news is bias accordingly to those clients and their interests.
I'm having a hard time trusting anything on television. I can't remember the last time I've watched it.
It's like a brainwashing machine.
Maybe I'm just paranoid.
It is a stupid story that didn't deserve national attention.
A bunch of damn idiots. We have other things to worry about.
I'd like to see more positive stories being reported. You know, more unsung hero stories.
It's what America needs right now. We really need something positive to offset all the negativity our country is going through right now. We don't need yet another story about how we're being screwed. Oh, is that news? Really? I thought I already knew that but thanks for reminding me yet again.
Grrrrs on the news media.

Peanut, I agree with you about the media, and the driving forces behind what we see on tv.

If people could take a step back, and see how utterly rediculous the media and those advertizing companies have become, maybe society would eventually change for the better.
It's annoying to me, sitting down for supper, and watching the Local News, because I like to keep abreast of what's going on, and then World News, and being pummeled in between by commercial after commercial by assorted drug advertizements. Guys singing the praises of Viagra, aging actresses touting calcium deficiency medication, and some afflictions I never even heard of, but it's drummed into my head to "see your doctor" about.
The drug companies are probably the worst offenders, trying to suck people's money and make people paranoid.
I believe the Govt is behind all this, getting kickbacks to fatten their pocketbooks.
The morals of society are warped as well by all the hyped advertizing thrown at us. Unless you have a diamond tough personality like I do, and inner stability and strength that isn't swayed by hype and fads, people buy into all that crap.
Just like brainwashing, repeated ads for Ipods, Cellphones, drugs, fashions, etc. eventually win over the weak, who are trying to fill a void in their lives they really don't need.

As for some of these flawed laws, they're most likely dreamt up by moron politicians that should never have been voted into office in the first place.
And you have to wonder as well the drive behind them by constituents with weaknesses as mentioned above. Like the blind leading the blind. It's a mess.

More Public Programming by responsible people is needed. I find myself watching PBS more simply because it's educational, informative, and a lot more entertaining.

I don't need Viagra shoved down my throat, I don't want some annoying idiot trying to sell me a car, and if I get Acid Reflux, it's only because I've become fed up with all this crap, so I hit the "off" button on the tv set.
