I live in CA for over 30 years. Don't even get me started on the ridiculousness of its government & policies. And, I love the state.
One of the issues holding back new reactors is the insurance for the new plant. That the rate is higher now than before TMI.

Wind, solar, natural gas, fewer oil and coal plants, and conservation and this country would probably to fine. And if we really wanted hydrogen we could have that too. There's only 66 years between the Wright Bros. and walking on the Moon. If we were as committed to making war and the new technology used for war as we were to new technology to keep civilization moving forward we'd have a better world in general.
