We all learn hard way sometimes but I end up paying $15 dollars late fee plus $1 finance charge for less than $50 purchase.
I am using many credit cards for very long time and this is my first time to pay few weeks late.

If we don't pay on time, Sears Gold Master Card suck our blood!
I know almost all credit cards charge late fees but be aware, sky high late fee of Sears Gold Master Card.
I am going to cut and destroy this card.
Bye bye Sears.
Super rich people who have money to burn can afford to have Sears Gold Master Card but I am too poor to afford this card.

If you dont pay ontime what do you expect? It is a business.

Think of it this way. You loaned someone money expecting to be paid back. The person you loaned money to was late paying you back. Why shouldnt you get extra money? Quit being a deadbeat and pay your bills.

BTW most CC's charge at least $25 for being late.

I missed a VISA pmt a few mos ago. $39 fee + interest. Life goes on.

Please pay attention to Excessive late fee of Sears Gold Master Card.
Many other people are making complaint against this credit card so I am not only person who is stop using this card.

Its not excessive. Most charge higher late fees.

And "super rich people" don't have to put a $50 purchase on a sears card, so I don't think they have to worry about the $15 late fee.

Excessive? It looks like you got off light, the late fee had to have been a tiered one where if the balance is lower you get a lower fee. Because $16 in fees is nothing.

And yeah, rich people don't have Sears cards. Super rich wouldn't think of stepping foot in that crap shack.

Many credit card companies charge allot more then that!

this is why they give you discount of ten percent sometimes if you use their card , then they can get you for late fees that more then compensate for the ten percent discount
PS ---- it use to be good enough that if you showed you send payment before a certain date they would allow no late fees. NOW all bets are off. Even if you show you mailed it before the due date, they can say you didn't mail it early enough to arrive by due date. Of course thats a subjective wayto say whatever you do we will charge you which is one reason Sears is empty or of course don't use credit cards. I got rid of my cards years ago.

Thats why you pay bills online. U have proof when it was paid.
