Larry,

Yes, I'm Prague, Czech Republic right now. Also recently in Portugal.

I'll be able to speak more to the "climate" tomorrow as I'm going to a big expat election night party. But normally I don't hang in such politically active circles as the Amsterdam guy. I do watch CNN Europe and the BBC nightly and the overall feeling is that Europe is anti-Bush but not at all anti-American.

Of the random political conversations I've gotten into, they are all the same. There is pity and a little fear. The world is a far less safe place because of Bush so the Europeans I've talked to all want Bush out. No doubt there are right wing Europeans... I just happen not to run with them. CNN just read some anti and pro Bush emails. But the news anchor also commented that the vast majority of emails were anti-Bush. He was soliciting for some pro Bush perspectives.

I'll report back after the election party. It's just a bar that shows American TV. Not a Dems Abroad or Repubs Abroad event.

Totally off the politcal subject, my wife and I after working 7 days a week for the last 2 years are going for one of those long weekend dicount trips to Prague over Thanksgiving. I'd love to hear your suggestions of must see/ must do's while in Praha although it doesn't have to clog up this particular election oriented thread.

Wouldn't you be better served by a breakfast party? I mean, I know young kids in Europe are all about partying late, but FL polls close at 7, OH close at 7:30, which means that the earliest meaningful returns won't be until 8 or 8:30, which is 2:30 am in Prague. And if this thing goes to NM or OR, then the sun will rise in Prague before we have a good idea who the President-elect is.

And are the networks doing anything about the West Coast effect? Probably not.

Drop me a line (or start a new topic) with a list of the sorts of things you like to do. Clubs, museums, day trips, concerts etc...

Yeah, I don't expect to stay up. I'll likely find out the next morning.
