Frontline's fifth version of the award winning pre-election coverage will run on Tuesday, Oct. 12 and Thursday Oct. 14 and November 1.
As Americans prepare to choose their next president, FRONTLINE offers viewers a special, two-hour dual biography of the two candidates who hope to lead the nation for the next four years. The fifth installment in FRONTLINE's continuing election series pairs filmmaker Martin Smith and correspondent Nicholas Lemann, who go beyond sound bites and political rhetoric to explore how the candidates and their values have been shaped by family background, history, victory, and defeat. By eschewing political pundits in favor of insightful comments from friends, families, colleagues, political adversaries and top journalists who have incisively reported on the candidates, "The Choice 2004" offers viewers -- and voters -- a chance to see the candidates in a fresh light before the campaign reaches its climax on Election Day. [Note: FRONTLINE moves to Tuesday night broadcasts this season.]

this is on again tonight, Thursday, at 9:00 PM. It's worth watching. It's a serious view of both Bush and Kerry's background, history, etc. from Yale to this moment. I'm sure the conservatives won't like it but for most of the rest of us, it's a pretty good look at the history of these two guys - not the sound bites, etc.
One thing that amazed me. Bush was really a bad businessman in Midland. He lost money like water. He was probably one of the worst "oilmen" in Texas. ;-)

It's really good watching. And for Rob and McGee, they make Kerry look like a stiff while in college.
Kerry is a stiff in college, Bush is an awful businessman. It's not a puff piece for either. On balance, it leans towards Kerry.
