Racist? Huh?
Canadians are far too uptight. I briefly dated a Canadian...I had to listen to his sister talk about how pompous and aloof Americans are...how they don't know anything about Canadian culture and basically name call all day long. Finally I said to her, "True, we do have a lot of Canadian jokes. But you're lucky we regard you at all."

Especially French Canadians. The French hate them and so do the rest of the Canadians.

My favorite Canada joke is from The Simpsons. When asked if he'd be interested in going to Canada, Homer replied, "Why would I want to leave America to go to America Junior?"
I watched several of the Conan episodes in Toronto last week. Man, those Canadians in the audience were pathetic. They went completely nuts at any mention of Canada or the Maple Leafs (which, by the way, should be "Maple Leaves," shouldn't it?). Soooo desperate for attention. How sad. And, for all the Canada "bashing," there was also plenty in the other direction. I liked the bit with Jim Carrey becoming a US citizen, then renouncing it and chewing up his US passport: "It tastes like... manifest destiny!" |

I'd say the Canadians have a lot of pent up pissiness b/c we're such an obnoxious neighbor. I used to travel to Toronto very frequently for work, and an example I found telling was when US planes in Afghanistan accidentally bombed a Canandian training camp and killed 6 or so Canadians - it was outrageous that our government refused to admit any fault even though it was obvious that our Top-Gun trigger-happy pilots mistargeted and did not follow protocol for acquiring targets. Reminded me of the time when some idiotic joy-riding American pilots in Italy severed the cables in a gondola transporting 20 or more Italians, b/c the pilots wanted to "go below the hard deck" to quote Top Gun. They were criminally prosecuted if I recall, but it is no coincidence that we have perceptions of being obnoxious b/c of these types of issues. How about target practice in Puerto Rico and Okinawa in backyards of natives? Other examples of obnoxious behavior that leads to pent up feelings of animosity.

And we're the only country with obnoxious people?

I'm actually willing to have my taxes pay to send Americans that are ashamed to be Americans to Canada or France or whereever they want to go.
