Someone in an earlier post mentioned about the strange, almost surreal scene in the film where the figure representing evil (the cloaked woman) appears when Jesus is getting flogged and is carrying a baby (that looks sort of like a hairy, ugly midget) when Jesus is getting flogged.

At first I was puzzled by that myself, but I think Gibson was trying to represent the passages in the New Testament that fortell the coming of an antichrist (i.e. Revelations, and some of the latter prophetic books of the NT).

Anyway, though controversial, it is an interesting film, worth seeing at least once.

How about the republican elephant. Nothing says "family" like the GOP.

Ibeen reading a lot of about the impact that this film and its success could have in Hollywood. How it could prompt other Bible-related films to get greenlighted as well as other religious films based on Jewish and Muslim teachings. What do you think of that?

My daughter watches VeggieTales (cartoon) all the time - they have Larry the Cumber tell bible stories from atop a kitchen counter. And lemme tell you they're great !! and I don't believe in a Catholic god! They're also making big bucks on these DVDs.

I have heard that Mel Gibson is apparently beginning to develop a major motion picture based on the life of Judas. I can't remember where I heard that, but if I find something on it, I'll post it here...

Will he have little jewish boys throw stones at Judas as he falls on the ground, and metamorphis their faces into the devil and then back to little innocent jewish boys like he did in the Passion of Christ movie (I don't remember reading that part in the Bible!)
