Default Hawkeye Cauci

Kerry-38%
Edwards-32%
Dean-18%
Gephart-11%
Kucinich-1%

Gephart canceled his flight to NH. He's scheduled a press confrence this afternoon. Looks like he's out. And Denis is a non-issue. Kerry had a huge surge in the last few day in Iowa and so did Edwards. Dean was a disappointment. Were people pissed at him for yelling at that 70 year old guy? Does this change anything? How can 125,000 people in the mid-west effect an election?

I don't think Dean appeals to mid-westerners. I think the story will be different in NH.

As a Dean supporter, I was definitely disappointed and surprised, but like someone already pointed out I think it will be very different in the Northeast and west coast primaries. I was at a Dean political event last night and someone had mentioned that his camp knew it would be difficult to win Iowa anyway. I think it will be much more difficult for Dean in the Mid-West and in the south over the next couple of months.

What I don't like about dean is how he flip flops on issues and seems to jump on bandwagons (quoting job, nascar dads, etc) he seems phony.

Sorry flip-flop is the wrong word..but I stand by the fact that he jumps on the bandwagon of what is popular and people seemed to see through that.

What I don't like about Dean is that obnoxious sound he made at the end of the caucus speech...

I love everything else about him I see so far. I am wondering though if one of the other candidates might have more appeal. But he was the only one I was really excited about vying for the ticket. Of course, this happened last election to me when Bill Bradley lost...but alas...

Examples? I haven't seen any evidence of this. Moreover, what I like about him is that he seems genuine and true to what he feels. He was decrying the war in Iraq from the get-go. Now a lot of the other candidates are jumping on the bandwagon when it's more popular to do so.

Why is everyone making such a big deal about that? Dean showed some emotion to get the crowd roudy (ok, maybe a bit too much emotion). We criticize if candidates are boring (Al Gore anyone?) and we criticize if they show emotion!
