These units will without a doubt sell out. Would you rather send these middle/ upper-middle class folks to Conshohocken?

Conshohocken is not the place I had in mind. But seriously, what is your stake in this? I live here and have to deal with the traffic volume as more and more resident is built without addressing traffic and other infrastructure.

Yes people like to live in yunk and they also want to enjoy it, not wake up some morning and find their view on all four sides of them is gone and they have to sit in traffic just to get out of their neighborhood.

You should come and live here, you would fit in perfect in Manayunk.

No stake. I remember you thought I had a stake in GhettoMill too haha. I really think its a neat idea...but I do not know enough about the flood threat. Regardless, it will sell out...and probably fast.

Im currently looking at some homes in Manayunk. Hell, I have family on Seville and Pechin. My current residence is going in the MLS tomorrow!

I have to fight that bottleneck all the time, and I am dreading the traffic that will come with all those new residents (who likely will NOT be taking the bus or the train). I am thinking it will suddenly actually become quicker and easier to take the City Ave route to destinations on the other side of the river!

True, but I don't live near either train station (I live the other side of Ridge, up at the top of the hill), so I probably wouldn't save any time that way. But maybe some of the new commuters will take advantage of their proximity to the train and spare us all their traffic! I already take the bus whenever I can, but that's just as subject to traffic problems as an individual car. . . .

Default Traffic?

How are they planning access to/from the island? Do they plan to do any traffic upgrades?

if they were working in the city that would most certainly bnethe case. now you just have to hope they are working in conshy otherwises transit will not be their choice. it might be easier to cut taxes and attract jobs into the city than rebuild all the infrastructure....nah, it'd never work.

Probably not. Build, collect money, then move on. Why worry about the consequences. These developers don't have to live here.

it's not their job to worry about the consequences. infrastructure us one th emost important jobs of the city government yet the most neglected. you shouldn't get angry at developer's for wanting to build and not worrying baout traffic. maybe for building crap (Bridge V) but not for infrastructure. that is the city's bag.
