As it happens, I had to relocate from Philly to Houston for work, and I currently have my house on the market in Manayunk.
It is on a main artery, so no worries about getting snowed in, and it is a short walk to the R6 train.

I love Manayunk......so I'm biased......if I was going to live anywhere other than Manayunk and be in the city.....I'd go to Queen Village area if you can get a decent rent.

Also, you may want to look at Ardmore or Bryn Mawr.

You can get trains to center city, you got suburban square, cool Ardmore bars, and you can get to Manayunk if you want too.

But I'd live in Manayunk......and spend your time hanging out in Flat Rock and Manayunk Tavern.
