I stopped in tonight to pick up a few things and a good portion of the store looked like it needed to be restocked. Just about all of the ice cream was empty, with the exception of very soft supply. Even the fruits and vegetables were limited. I'm guessing the freezers were having problems, but I'm hoping they are just letting supply run out and closing that place for something better.

I was there earlier in the day and saw the same thing. But I also saw a guy working with some wires, that were dropped from the ceiling. So apparently there was some type of an electrical problem in the ice cream freezer section. The other side was okay.

It's not a terrible store, but it's always really quiet and every time I go in there I hear the employees bitching about their jobs, bosses, etc.etc. That's a big time turn-off for me. But, the people who shop there aren't so trashy as the Roxborough one, they're just old and slow.
What a shame, it could be a nice shopping center. |

I hate the Andorra Acme. As soon as you walk in it smells of garbage. The location is nice, the people who work there are nice, but even they can't stand the store. It is poorly stocked, and expensive, and is not commesurate with the community.
Andorra is a lovely , walkable community. It would be nice to be able to walk to a store (instead of drive, nowadays), and be able to do decent shopping. I wish a nice market/bakery/fruit store would open up. The community deserves better. |

artspirit hit it right on the head. Overpirced and understocked. They can't compete with Shoprite and Superfresh. If it wasn't for LA Fitness there probably wouldn't be much shopping there at all. I wouldn't mind a produce junction to fill that space when ACME finally leaves.

So what can be done to make the Acme more 'walkable to' rather than 'driveable to'?
