I find Frank's particularly fascinating because they don't know whether they are a corner store or a pizza shop, and there are weird interstices where reality can get a little bizarre. I am not denigrating the situation; I just think that evolution is really interesting. I particularly loved it when they put the big fridge for pizza ingredients front and center in the store.

Couch Tomato makes a decent NY/Italian style pizza, which is tough to come by in this area. This is the same style as NYPD in CC or Lorenzo's on South St. CT is a bit overpriced, but their pizzas a larger than most, and I'll occasionally pay the premium for a quality pizza. Mr. P's in Rox makes a similar style pizza, but the quality is hit or miss. Sometimes the pizza will be delivered cold or overdone. A lot of other shops in the area actually serve Greek-style pizza, which I'm not too crazy about.
I'll have to try some of the places in EF, mentioned here. |
