The food is good, but last time I was there I noticed they charge people for using a credit card. I am not sure if it is illegal, but it is not permitted by the credit card companies. I am surprised they have not been banned by Visa/MasterCard.

It is definitly illegal and the reason I do not patronize their business. I can't deny that it may be the best pizza in manayunk, but companies that nickel and dime their customers through illegal means should not be patronized. I also don't like their store setup. Even if you call ahead and just go to pick up a pizza, you have to stand in the line with all the people still deciding what they want. It doesn't make sense to me.

THey are a great asset in that they hire a lot of the college kids that live around here, and they offer some great healthy options, but I just can't get over the fact that they charge/have a minimun for credit cards when you can use your card at McDonalds for $1 cheeseburger. It is in complete violation of their visa contract, but the place is so busy that I really don't want to mention it directly to them. Does it have to do with the tip jars they place on the counter? Do they want to force people to make change so that they will make more money? Is it because the owners want cash so they don't have to report all their earnings? Something about businesses that do this just seems shady.

Does anyone know how to get Visa to send them a warning or something?

HAHA, I always saw them in Fiesta up on Henry so I decided to give them a shot, best choice I ever made. Cops definitely know the best places.

As for the person that mention All Star, so true, but where else is their to order from at 3am?

Doesn't anybody in East Falls like Frank's?

They're my new favorite (used to be Apollo's, but we've been converted). Good cheesesteaks too.

Citypaper blurb:

With all due respect for everything La Cosa Nostra has done for South Philly, we’re talking about pizza here. Where we once thought that it was impossible to get a good Sicilian pie delivered stoop-side, East Falls corner mainstay Frank’s said that just ain’t so. And they said it deliciously (cooked perfectly, there’s nary a need to worry about cheese slippage), not to mention cheaply (an enough-left-over-for-lunch bargain at $11.50).

Ill have to try the Slices salads. Do they have a broad mix like Couch Tomato? I could care less about the environment...I want good food. I'm not a huge fan of their WW Pizza.

For Pizza I like Franks too. I do prefer Santuccis though.

Frank's is on the corner of Dobson and Fisk in East Falls, two of the most obscure streets in the city; another way of saying it is that Frank's is behind the Falls Library, off of Calumet. I love Frank's pizza and also Santucci's pizza, but I have recently become more of a salad guy, hence Slices. The local Santucci's is on Terrace Street in Wissayunk (the old Rzepnicki's?); when I was a kid I used to go the one in Kensington - I don't know where the mother Santucci's is.

I love Santucci's too but they started charging 50 cents on any Visa transaction and that really annoys me.

Is Couch Tomato even that good? I find their pizza to be too moist (maybe too greasy). Without considering the price, I would prefer to eat at the average pizza/cheesesteak shop anywhere in Philly rather than CT.
