There is a fantastic Thai restaurant on Fayette Street between 1st and 2nd Avenues, across the street from the Boathouse and Great American Pub. Can't recall the name, but the Thai eggplant has us going back again and again.

We ended up at Flanigan's boathouse..then strolled up Fayette a few blocks for ice cream. It was a nice night, but we're not sure we'll head back to the area again, though. It seemed the evening we got lost and drove through there last summer there was a lot more happening -- more like Main St. Of course, after driving into Conshohocken via Hector St, we were a little afraid of walking off the main road at night so we certainly could have missed stuff!
Thanks for all the suggestions. |

I work right down the street from the Boathouse and often walk there for lunch. If it didn't seem "happening" to you that night, try going when the weather is warmer. It's been nearly impossible for me to get a table outside and any of the restaurants on Fayette lately during lunch because it's been so crowded. The night time crowd is more during happy hour, I'd say it dies down once it gets past 10pm. If you want late night action, then yeah it can't really compare to Main St. Manayunk beyond the dinner hour.
Also, walking off the main road isn't a problem. But there's really no reason to... aside from a few restaurants adjacent to Fayette (Coyote Crossing being the exception), it's all just residential or corporate. But either way it's a nice area and not anywhere I'd ever worry about walking around in. And I'm female and usually walk by myself. |

![]() ![]() I just wanted to say a little bit about the Boathouse I have done some business with the owner in the past and he is fantastic. All around great guy who is all about improving Conshy. I love that it is a local, family business that really worked it's way up. I have met alot of business owners/restaurant owners who really dont care about the area they are in, or the customers, but the owner is just an all around great guy who really cares. I would not mind spending money there, and trust me I do. THat cheesy crab fondue they have is AH-MAY-ZING! |

It's a fine restaurant with linens on the table, a good wine list, friendly service, and a REALLY great menu. Andrew Totaro is often there, and he does SO much to support the Conshohocken community. Take a look at the website. Never had a bad meal. We like PTG because it's fine and local, and a BYOB, but Totaro's is another favorite spot.
