back in the day. I've lived in Roxborough for last 10 years. I never ran into a block party. Is this an annual event? I guess I just figured that the bike race counted as every block's "block party". Do different blocks in Rox/Man/EF have block parties?

Every block is a party. I assume the original poster works for guido's and is trying to promote their hotdog/pizza stand. Most of the people who live here have parties with food, but he is trying to appeal to the people who get off the train right there. There are usually lots of vendors like this on cresson that day.

first i dont work for guido for i am guido..and second im not trying to appeal to the people getting off the train..i am appealing to everybody..you know i work this area so why not let people know i will be on the corner on sunday hope to see everybody there

Ok I've lived in Roxy/Manayunk for several years now and have never gone to a block party during the race. How exactly does this work? Do you just show up to a random party? Are you supposed to bring beer and food or do people just charge you money?


Also, what is the deal with the soapbox derby race at midnight? DETAILS PLEASE!

Most of the people who hang out on crescent street during the race are getting off the train, hence why almost EVERY vendor has a stand on Cresson (To appeal to the people that come to watch the race yet don't know of a party, your a great asset for them), yet you don't see any up on the hill because of the parties. Thats smart business, I wasn't trying to insult you at all. I wandered away from my parties last year and ended up trying the food down there last year so you may see me after I get the munchies. What your thinking of is the naked races, which are pretty much nonexistent ever since Preston and Steve told the entire Delaware Valley to come watch, and WAY too many people showed up and the police shut it down. way to go Preston and Steve, you guys suck.
