Is it my imagination, or has the food at the Adobe Cafe gone downhill recently? Not that it was ever in the PTG category, but we've been going there ever since it opened, and have often remarked on the consistent quality, with a few bumps in the road.
Lately, though, not so much, as John Stewart might say.

NOOOOOOOOO, not Adobe. I can take it when one of the expensive places on Main Street starts to tank, but Adobe is a neighborhood place. We need it, I need it.
I think we need to save Adobe. Save our Carne Asada and Margaritas. |

Funny you should mention Carne Asada. That's the wife's fave, but the last couple times she wasn't real happy with it.

The carne asada at Adobe is absolutely bottom of the barrel. Carne Asada should be chunks of pork, it shouldn't have the consistency of baby food (like Adobe's does). Adobe has never been good for food, maybe for drinks, but not food. I honestly don't know of any good authentic mexican places near Manayunk/Roxborough. You have to travel further out from the city to get to the good places. Last edited by gravenewworld : 05-19-2008 at 02:25 AM. |

IMHO, the quality of food from Adobe shouldn't be judged from a visit on Cinco di Mayo. It's probably one of their busiest, if not the busiest day of the year. We haven't been in for a month, or so, but have visited several times this year and have haven't noticed a change in the quality of food. |
