A chicken! I don't think so. I would probably hear it. The pig is black, it's only really out in the morning. In the summer I walk to get coffee and say hello to the pig on the way - it's much more friendly than the billion smelly dogs that live there too; it runs up to the fence to say hello.

The pig is very friendly. So friendly that the local day cares walk the children down to see the pig on nice days.

They used to have chickens & ducks when they first moved into the area. I used to walk by just to see them. So cool.

There's that house with a caged German Shepherd. And they have a German Shepherd flag. Right up against the Wissahickon.

They still have chickens. They have given me eggs before.

The pig's name is Joey.

This is (one reason) why this neighborhood is so f'n cool! You can live in a reasonably sized, efficient and affordable duplex or row home, close enough to walk to get coffee, groceries, catch the bus, etc...but so many of the homes have properties large enough for pools, playgrounds, horses, pigs, etc. People who visit me can't believe how large some of the yards are around here (I'm up near Gates/Hermitage/Leverington). Of course we have a small, crappy yard b/c we're near the corner, but 4 houses down they have a big built-in pool and a lady 6 houses down used to have horses!
