Default Snow and street clearing

It was not much of a snowstorm and treking through the snow was not much of an issue, but the Dec 26 "dusting" did cause a lot of icy motoring conditions.

Obviously there is no need for votes, as most of the streets in Roxborough seemed un-salted and un-swept as of late Monday afternoon. Ridge, Henry, and Main seemed OK, but forget Lyceum and Roxborough Avenue, as well as Germantown Avenue, in front of Chestnut Hill Hospital.

Let's hope that this does not turn into a trend for the winter.

That's the problem with small streets throughout the city. So many of youse are used to nice suburban expanses.

Plows come along (sometimes). When they do, they push snow into cars, shoveled spaces, etc. People come out and shovel their cars, parking spaces, their sidewalks. People throw all their snow into the street (since in many cases, there is no other place to put it). Plows come along and push the snow back . . . .

And so it goes. It's a war out there.

Ain't that the truth! They're damned if the plow, and damned if they don't!
