I spoke with someone who worked at Thumpers on Sunday. I was told they were hoping to reopen in roughly 3 months.

Glad to hear that. We always had a nice time there, great food and fair prices.

Just got a note in from Sean and Jessica at Thumpers:

They are closed until January '08 as they rebuild. In the meantime, their employes are out of jobs and they will have some costs not covered by insurance. If you know of job openings for the staff temporarily, let them know.

If you want to give them some support, here's a way:

"a Beef and Beer to benefit Thumpers and their staff at Finnigan's Wake on Sunday the 21st. 4:00 - 8:00. Donation includes open bar, amazing buffet, DJ, door prizes, etc. Proceeds will help us overcome any insurance shortfalls and help out some of the unemployed staff. Any one hear anything lately? Are they reopening, selling or just leaving it to rot?

Not sure, but the bar across from Murphy's seems to have a new name.
